Details
Biocomma nucleic acid hybridization reagents include PBS buffer and SSC buffer.
PBS buffer can effectively neutralize NaOH in gels, preventing subsequent high-salt transfer buffers (such as SSC) from losing effectiveness or causing nucleic acid damage due to excessively high pH.
SSC solution, as a saline buffer, is mainly used to neutralize the negative charges on the DNA phosphate backbone, reducing electrostatic repulsion between two single strands and thereby promoting hybridization.
When used as a wash buffer, the stringency of washing is regulated by controlling the ionic strength and temperature of the SSC solution.
