Product Information

Application	Used for the selective cultivation and screening of yeast strains with specific amino acid auxotrophies. It is especially suitable for experiments that are sensitive to dextrose caramelization and require high experimental precision.
Preparation	Suspend 4g of SC broth in 450mL of distilled water, sterilize by filtration or autoclaving at 121 ° C for 15 minutes, add 50ml sterilized 20% dextrose or other carbon source before use.
Principle	SC medium is a yeast selective basal medium without a carbon source, it allows flexible supplementation with various carbohydrates (e.g., glucose, galactose, raffinose, fructose, or sucrose) according to experimental needs. SC medium consists of YNB, amino acids and nucleotides. YNB provides essential growth factors and inorganic salts, while ammonium sulfate serves as an inorganic nitrogen source. The DO Supplement enables the selective omission of specific nutrients to generate auxotrophic selection and reporter gene activation.
